Owners: Lisa Mascara and TJ Gentile
Lisa Mascara and TJ reside in North Strabane with their youngest son, Sam Mascara and three fur babies.
Partners in life and business, they both left corporate careers to open Salt Of The Earth in 2018.
According to Lisa, "TJ doesn't let to much grass grow under his feet"
2018 was kinda busy. Our first date in March, engaged in May, opened SALT (aka Salt of the Earth) in December.
New Relationships... Getting to know you.
SALT began as a vague "someday" dream/discussion. Something to think about, discuss for a year or two and then maybe it would happen. I quickly learned TJ does not operate the same way. As I was still pondering goals and endless possibilities, 16 tons of Himalayan Salt was delivered. not joking.
I give him full credit for making SALT happen. Managing the taks for a start-up are not in my skill set nor of any interest.
We work well together. He still manages the back-end parts and I get to work with our customers and crystals.
In addition to Salt of The Earth, they also own Valley Brook Pilates and The Kickstand. The Kickstand is a walk-up ice-cream shop featuring Hershey's ice-cream with deck seating on the Montour trail. VBP and The Kickstand are located in the rear of the building and above SALT.
The basics: Rhonda joined our team in March of 2021 as a part- time massage therapist before stepping into a front-desk role in September. She is a Pittsburgh native and resides in the south hills. And has extensive experience in retail, customer relations and marketing. She graduated from Bethel Park Senior High School and earned a degree from Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy in the comprehensive program.
She is an awesome asset to Team Salt in both the boutique and a favorite amongst our clients for massage. She has extensive experience in retail, holistic healing and crystals. With her vibrant hair, she is easily recognizable and customers love her kindness, easy manner and gentle energy. We love her humor.. She is our entertainer and noted with hilarious one- liners.
What is your favorite Crystal? Fluorite- at the moment. I find purples and blues to be the most relaxing colors in the palette, both inspire me to be still and meditate.
Is there a crystal that you do not resonate with? Is that a real question?
Why did you choose massage? I like making people feel better.
Who would you like to meet that you do not know? “Myself on a deeper level, cause I’m kinda of a big deal”. (see what we mean??)
Next career step: Yoga Instructor, Hypnotherapy, and Ice-cream connoisseur.
Least favorite thing: An empty stomach.
